High Heels Dance

For Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced

Heels dance is an energetic and expressive dance style performed in high-heeled shoes, adding a layer of elegance and complexity to the performance. It’s known for its smooth, graceful movements and an enhanced feeling of empowerment. This dance emphasizes detailed footwork, accentuating the distinct sounds and rhythms produced by the heels’ contact with the floor. Popular in various genres like jazz, hip-hop, and ballroom, heels dance transcends just technique; it empowers dancers to celebrate their femininity and project confidence. This makes it a compelling and empowering form of dance that breaks the mold of conventional dance styles.

TIPS TO KNOW

1. Do I need previous dance experience to join High Heels classes?

No, our classes are beginner-friendly and open to all levels, even if you have no prior dance experience.

2. What should I wear to the High Heels class?

We recommend comfortable clothing that allows movement, such as leggings or shorts, and, of course, a pair of sturdy high heels. Avoid shoes with rubber soles.

3. What kind of heels should I bring?

Choose heels you feel comfortable in, ideally with ankle support. Beginner-friendly heels between 3-5 inches are recommended.

4. Is it safe to dance in high heels?

Yes! We focus on proper technique to ensure safety. Start slow, and as you gain confidence, you’ll adjust to dancing in heels.

5. Can I join the class if I’m not confident dancing in heels?

Absolutely! Our instructors will guide you through the basics, helping you feel more confident in heels over time.

6. What can I expect during a typical High Heels class?

You’ll learn a mix of sensual, expressive movements, focusing on balance, posture, and fluidity. Classes also include a warm-up, strength-building exercises, and choreography practice.

7. How long are the classes?

Classes typically last for about 60-75 minutes, which includes warm-up, choreography, and cool-down.

8. Will I be able to express my own style in these classes?

Yes! While we teach the fundamentals, our classes encourage creativity and self-expression through movement.

9. Are the classes focused only on dancing, or will we work on fitness too?

Our classes combine both dance and fitness elements. You’ll improve your strength, flexibility, and stamina while learning choreography.

10. Can I attend classes without wearing heels?

If you’re not ready to wear heels, you can start in flat shoes and transition to heels when you feel comfortable.

11. Do I need any specific gear for High Heels classes?

Yes, aside from wearing comfortable high heels that provide good ankle support, we also recommend using knee protection. Some exercises and floorwork can put pressure on your knees, so wearing knee pads will help ensure your comfort and safety throughout the class.
